A lab report consultation is a short online video call in which a doctor goes through your Aish Health lab test report with you: what each result means, what is outside the normal range, and what to do next. You add it when you book lab tests, and book the call once the lab has uploaded your report.
It is for the moment most people know well: the report arrives, some numbers are marked high or low, and you cannot tell whether to worry. Instead of searching result by result, you get a doctor’s explanation of your own results and advice on whether you need a specialist, more tests or simply a follow-up later.

The doctors who review reports
Report consultations are taken by doctors who have been reviewed and approved by the Aish team, are currently active, consult online, and have been set up to review lab reports. Only those doctors appear when you choose one.
Each doctor shows their speciality and the languages they speak, so you can choose someone you can talk to comfortably, which helps when a parent would rather hear the explanation in their own language.

Questions to ask about your report
The call is short, so it helps to arrive with your questions ready. Open the report beforehand and mark anything flagged as high or low.
- Which results are outside the normal range, and how far outside?
- Could any result be explained by fasting, medicines, recent illness or exercise?
- Do I need to repeat a test, and when?
- Should I see a specialist, and what kind?
- Is there anything I should change now in my diet, activity or current medicines?
When it helps most
A report consultation is most useful for a first health check-up with several flagged results, for a parent whose report needs explaining in plain words, and for results such as sugar, thyroid, cholesterol or kidney markers that you will be tracking over time. It is less useful when every value is within range and you feel well, though a doctor can still tell you when to test again.
What a report consultation is not
It is a review of the report from your Aish Health lab order, not a full consultation about unrelated symptoms, and it cannot be booked for a report from another lab. If you have new symptoms or need treatment started, a regular doctor consultation, online, at home or at the clinic, is the right booking.
If the doctor suggests further tests, you can book them with home collection in the same account, and prescribed medicines can be ordered for delivery.

How much does a lab report consultation cost?
The price is shown on this page and at lab test checkout when you add it. It is a single fixed price per consultation, with no GST added on top.
Can I get a report from another lab explained?
No. The consultation is linked to an Aish Health lab test order and reviews that report. For a report from another lab, book a regular online doctor consultation.
When can I book the consultation?
Once the lab uploads your report. From then you have 30 days to choose a doctor and a slot from your order.
Is the consultation online or in person?
Online only. The doctor reviews your report with you over a video call that you join from your Aish Health account.
Can I choose a doctor who speaks my language?
Yes. When booking, you can filter the available doctors by the languages they speak.
I forgot to add the consultation at checkout. Can I still get one?
The report consultation is added when the lab tests are booked. If you missed it, book a regular online doctor consultation and share your report during the call.
What if I cancel the report consultation?
A cancelled report consultation is refunded in full.
