Aish Health

Elderly care at home in Hyderabad

Aish Health books caretakers who look after an elderly parent at home in Hyderabad, helping with bathing, dressing, eating, moving around the house and keeping company through the day. The same booking covers caretakers for new babies and for mothers during and after pregnancy.

Caretakers are not nurses. They handle personal care and daily routine, while medical procedures such as injections, dressings or catheter care need a home nurse. For round-the-clock help, a live-in caretaker can be booked for 30 days at one package price.

  • Approved by the Aish team before their first booking
  • Live-in 24-hour packages by the month
  • Male or female caretaker on request

Who looks after your family member

Caretakers are reviewed and approved by the Aish team before they can take a booking. We collect their identity document and the qualification, certificate and experience documents they hold, and a caretaker cannot go live until that review is done.

Caretaking experience varies a great deal from person to person. Before care starts, speak to the caretaker on the number shown in your booking: explain the daily routine, medicines the family gives, food preferences, and anything that tends to upset or calm your parent.

Signs an elderly parent could use help at home

Families usually look for a caretaker after something changes: a fall, a hospital stay, a spouse who can no longer manage alone, or children who work long hours. A caretaker is worth considering when you notice any of the following, especially more than one at a time.

  • Skipped meals, unwashed clothes, or medicines left untaken
  • Unsteadiness on the stairs or in the bathroom, or a recent fall
  • Needing help to get out of bed, dress or use the toilet
  • Confusion in the evenings, or wandering, that makes being alone unsafe
  • A family carer who is exhausted and has had no break for weeks

Day visits or a live-in caretaker

Help for part of the day, covering the hours when family is at work, suits patients who are still largely independent. Once support is needed through the night as well, the live-in caretaker package books the same caretaker for 30 days, 24 hours a day, at a single price you pay when booking. It has its own page, and you can compare it with the monthly nursing care packages.

If the patient needs medical procedures as well as personal care, combine the two: a caretaker for daily routine, and a home nurse visiting for injections, dressings or catheter care.

Making a caretaker arrangement work

Write down the daily routine, with waking time, meals, medicine times, walks and rest, and keep it where the caretaker can see it. Show them where emergency numbers, the medicine box and the patient’s documents are kept. Agree on how you want to be updated during the day.

Keep the home safe for an older person: a non-slip mat in the bathroom, night lights on the way to the toilet and a clear path between bed and door. A wheelchair, walker or hospital bed can make lifting and moving safer for both patient and caretaker.

Questions about elderly care at home

What is the difference between a caretaker and a home nurse?

A caretaker helps with personal care and daily routine: bathing, dressing, meals, moving around and company. A nurse carries out medical procedures such as injections, IV infusions, dressings and catheter care.

Can a caretaker stay with my parent 24 hours a day?

Yes, through the live-in caretaker package. It books the same caretaker for 30 days, 24 hours a day, at one package price shown before you pay.

Can a caretaker give my parent their medicines?

Agree medicine reminders as part of the daily routine you set with the caretaker, using medicines the family has set out. Injections, IV medicines and any decision about medication need a nurse or doctor.

Can I ask for a female caretaker for my mother?

Yes. Gender preference can be set on request when you book and is subject to availability at your pin code.

Do you provide caretakers for newborn babies and new mothers?

Yes. Caretaker services are offered for baby care and pregnancy care as well as elderly care. Open the service to see what can be booked at your address.

What happens if we stop a monthly live-in package early?

Before the package starts, cancelling gives a full refund. After it has started, the refund covers the remaining days at the package’s daily rate.
