The REN-H08 Adjustable Lancing Device is a pen-style medical instrument used to obtain small capillary blood samples, primarily for blood glucose monitoring. It features an adjustable depth dial (typically with 5 to 10 settings) that allows you to customize the puncture depth to match your skin thickness and sensitivity, ensuring a more comfortable and less painful prick.

How to Use the Lancing Device

1. Prepare Your Hands: Wash your hands thoroughly with warm, soapy water and dry them completely. The warmth helps improve blood circulation.

2. Load the Lancet: Twist off the top cap of the lancing device counter-clockwise. Insert a new, sterile twist-top lancet firmly into the holder.

3. Expose the Needle: Twist and pull off the round protective plastic cap from the lancet (save this cap for safe disposal later).

4. Replace the Cap: Put the lancing device cap back on and rotate it clockwise until it clicks into place.

5. Adjust the Depth: Twist the adjustable dial to select your comfort level. Lower numbers (1–2)are for delicate or thin skin, while higher numbers are for thicker or calloused skin.

6.Prime the Device: Pull back the sliding barrel or cocking mechanism at the end of the pen until it clicks. The release button will pop up or change color, indicating it is ready.

7. Lance the Finger: Place the device firmly against the side of your clean fingertip (the sides have fewer nerve endings and hurt less than the pad). Press the trigger release button.

8.Safe Disposal: Remove the device cap, carefully push the needle into the saved plastic protective cap, and use the built-in ejector slide to discard the used lancet safely into a sharps container.
