A subcutaneous (SC or Sub-Q) injection delivers medication into the fatty tissue layer between the skin and muscle using a short, small-gauge needle. Common sites include the abdomen (2 inches from navel), outer thigh, or back of the arm. It is used for medication like insulin or blood thinners, with injections typically administered at a 90-degree angle, or 45-degree angle for thinner individuals.
